Phytoplankton – or microalgae – are puny primitive plants that appear naturally in the ocean. There are different species, divided by different colour categories: green, brown, golden, blue and red.

Rhodomonas lens is a natural occurring phytoplankton that ranges from 7 to 10μm. Despite being red, this specie is not related with the dreadful algae that produces red tides.

This is not a simple algae to deal with, but we managed to conquer it!

How to use

This is a user-friendly, ready-to-use product! You just have to open-it and pour it directly on your aquarium or live feed culture.

Aqua Phyto might need to be resuspended, just gently invert the closed flask for a maximum performance.

Benefits

This is a red flagellate that naturally has a high nutritional profile, especially high pigments, omega-3 and omega-6 content.

It’s commonly referred that copepods and other animals can feed on simpler t culture phytoplankton, such as Tetraselmis sp. and Nannochloropsis sp. They do feed on them – that’s true – but those algae do not cater the correct nutrition, like Rhodomonas lens does.
